I enjoyed reading this biography of Gabrielle Douglas. It was interesting to get a behind the scenes look at gymnastics training from a champion's perspective. She started the sport at a young age, many do, and she shares with readers what it was like to be six, seven, etc. and spending THAT many hours a week at the gym. Readers also get a glimpse of her private life outside the gym--her relationship with her mom, brother, sister, father. Other subjects touched upon include her spirituality, her pets, and her 'new' celebrity status. (She mentions every famous person she's met since the London games.) It is not as detailed perhaps as it could be--sharing every detail about her years of training, her meets, her coaches, her injuries, her friends, etc. It does offer readers just enough. I also enjoyed looking at the photos!
