Focus on Psalm 27:14

One of my March memory verses is Psalm 27:14. Though I've chosen to memorize this verse in the ESV, I thought it would be interesting to see how other versions of the Bible translate this verse. After all, almost more important than memorization is meditation and understanding. And reading in various translations can help with that!

  • Hope in the Lord: be strong, and he shall comfort thine heart, and trust in the Lord. (1599 Geneva)
  • Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. (King James Version)
  • Wait on the LORD: be strong, and let thine heart take courage; yea, wait thou on the LORD. (English Revised Version)
  • Wait for Jehovah: Be strong, and let thy heart take courage; Yea, wait thou for Jehovah. (American Standard Version)
